Christmas In January Continues

January 5, 2011 10:23 by ehouston

As I mentioned in my last post, I had a few more décor shots to share.  We traveled to see family rather than having a house full of guests, so the decorating was a bit subdued this year.  We did dress up the almost-finished-bar a bit in the dining room.

(Vintage Aluminum tree, with glass garland and vintage glass topper.)

(A vintage molded paper tray from Japan featuring Santa and his sleigh helps corral my old pal the vintage paper mache snowman, complete with cigar.  Yes, a cigar!)

We also added some fun to our fireplace with stockings, hangers and candles.

(These are our old, funky, joke stockings, which were replaced with cute knit ones late in the season (see below).  These are the felt kind with iron on letters- a first Christmas together joke that just kept on giving.)

(Oh, the longing…..)

I posted the close up shots of the vintage glass ornaments in my pottery collection yesterday

Here is the room before the light touch decorating.

Below is a shot of the entire display, including the vintage waving Santa and some pine boughs that made the room smell great.

We also set up or handmade nativity that we found on our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a couple of years ago in this room.

It’s itty-bitty.

Of course we still put up a live tree in the living room and the silver tinsel tree sat lighted in the room above our front porch.  We always add some lights to the bushes at our entry and the tree above the porch just added a little sweetness.

Merry After Christmas Everyone!
